I am over age 70 and a half and must start taking minimum IRA distributions. The IRA trustee gives me the choice to have taxes withheld or not. What do you think? (W.L., Glastonbury, CT)
If you are not currently making any estimated tax payments, but the IRA distributions would require them, having the IRA withhold the taxes takes care of that paperwork for you.
