IRS Home-Office Deduction Separate Entrance


My tax preparer told me that I had to have a separate entrance to my home office to qualify for an office in the home deduction on my IRS Form. I am using the office for administration only. I don’t see any patients in the office. Why would I need a separate entrance to qualify for the deduction? (E.R., Madison, WI)
